CIM Base Camp: The Latest in Family Business Analyzed at the MACBA Foundation

Last Thursday, November 20, the Auditorium of the MACBA Foundation hosted a new edition of CIM Base Camp, a day dedicated to exploring the latest trends and emerging challenges in the field of family business. Under the title “The Latest in Family Business”, the event brought together specialists and professionals in a small format designed to encourage direct dialogue and knowledge exchange.

During the session, key issues regarding the management, evolution, and continuity of family businesses were discussed, with special attention to current challenges and new case law affecting them directly. The practical focus of the debates allowed the identification of learnings applicable to both real estate and non-real estate family businesses.

From CIM, we thank all participants for the excellent reception of this edition, as well as the MACBA Foundation for their collaboration in organizing the event.

The day featured moderators and experts who enriched the debate with their perspectives and experiences. Among them, María Ravetllat (Tax Manager at CIM Tax & Legal) and Luis Escayola (Senior Associate at CIM Tax & Legal), who led the roundtables. Also participating as speakers were Salvador Farrés Ripoll (Notary in Barcelona), Carlos Muñoz (Partner at CIM Tax & Legal), Emma S. Corretger (Partner at CIM Tax & Legal) and Blanca Llopart (Director of Tax at CIM Tax & Legal), providing valuable analysis on the legal, tax, and strategic aspects affecting family businesses.

As a closing, part of the group had the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition “Projecting a Black Planet. The Art and Culture of Pan-Africa”, adding a cultural component to a day focused on learning and reflection.
